Subaru Impreza Concept

Subaru presents the "Subaru Impreza Concept", the first concept model to be released under its new brand strategy.
Confidence in Motion - Subaru Brand Statement
The Subaru Concept car embodies Subaru's new Brand Statement of "Confidence in Motion." The Subaru brand has always inspired confidence with its customers through its commitment to "engineering excellence." With the core ideal of "engineering excellence", Subaru's commitment is to provide customers with "enjoyment and peace of mind" in all its products.
The Subaru brand statement, "Confidence in Motion" comprises two ideas: The first part, "Confidence", symbolizes Subaru's engineering philosophy, and the company's desire to provide enjoyment and peace of mind to the customer. The second part, "In Motion" encapsulates Subaru's strong will to deepen the relationship between its "engineering excellence" and customer confidence to extend the "enjoyment" of Subaru automobiles to more consumers. Through "Confidence in Motion", Subaru will continue to provide cars that deliver the "freedom and enjoyable lifestyle" that only Subaru vehicles can offer.
SUBARU IMPREZA CONCEPT
The Subaru Impreza Concept is a design concept car that embodies the Subaru brand statement. Designed to show a possible direction for future Impreza models, it harmoniously blends advanced Subaru design with Subaru's driving confidence. The concept expresses the core Subaru brand values of "enjoyment and peace of mind." The Impreza Concept fuses a sleek form that exudes dynamism and elegance with a roomy and rich four-seat interior that expresses a safe and comfortable ride.
"Dynamic flow and Confident stance" are the concepts underlying the exterior design. The car suggests an advanced design for Subaru by using a sporty and lively four-door coupe style. A sleek character line runs along the car from the front end along the roof and on to the rear and symbolizes the new Subaru form. The A-pillar stretching forward and the smoothly flowing C-pillar are important elements that distinguish the styling of the Impreza Concept. They provide both a roomy cabin and also superlative aerodynamic performance. These elements are boldly concentrated in the rear half of the body, and this resulted in a four-door sedan that also presents a stylish and powerful form. The front and rear bumpers incorporate hard-edged corners whose superlative aerodynamic characteristics were confirmed through wind tunnel testing, indicative of a design in which the quest for better aerodynamics meant laboring over even the smallest detail when it came to environmental friendliness. The distinctive wheel arches distinguish this as an All-Wheel drive (AWD) model while emphasizing the image of powerful Subaru driving character and also denoting reliability and safety.
The Subaru Impreza Concept is powered by a next-generation Horizontally-Opposed Boxer engine with improved environmental friendliness. The combination of the 2.0-liter naturally-aspirated Boxer engine with a Lineartronic (CVT) represents Subaru's next-generation powertrain. The Impreza Concept blends environmental friendliness and comfortable ride with the trusted performance that Subaru's traditional symmetrical AWD provides. The result increases the "enjoyment and peace of mind" concept that lies behind the Subaru Impreza Concept.
The Impreza has come to be known as Subaru's global compact car since its debut in 1992. Subaru now presents the Impreza Concept as a design concept for a future Impreza that can give anyone a stress-free and pleasurable driving experience while also symbolizing a new design and brand going forward in strength.

Mercedes-Benz CLS 63 AMG

Exciting design, ultimate performance and groundbreaking efficiency: this is what the new Mercedes-Benz CLS 63 AMG is all about. The top-of-the-range version of the four-door coupé is equipped with the newly developed AMGV8 biturbo engine, featuring a peak output of up to 410 kW (557 hp) and 800 Nm of torque, as well as the AMG SPEEDSHIFT MCT 7-speed sports transmission. On top of this, the vehicle's fuel consumption of 9.9 litres per 100 km (NEDC) represents an improvement of 32 percent compared with the previous model (all figures provisional).
The combination of an AMG RIDE CONTROL sports suspension with electronically controlled damping system and new front axle, newly developed electromechanical AMG sports parameter steering, and also optional AMG ceramic high-performance composite braking system, is synonymous with maximum driving dynamics. Visually, the CLS 63 AMG impresses with its athletic appearance and distinctive exterior and interior design. The model's standard specification also includes innovative LED High Performance headlamps.
"The new CLS 63 AMG continues the success story of the previous models, the CLS 55 AMG and CLS 63 AMG, which have delighted our customers all around the world since 2004", according to Ola Kallenius, Head of Mercedes-AMG GmbH. "The CLS 63 AMG is a unique high-performance car – it sets new standards in design, performance and efficiency." Like the S 63 AMG and CL 63 AMG, drivers of the CLS 63 AMG will benefit from an eight-cylinder powerhouse, designated internally as the M 157: the new AMG 5.5-litre V8 biturbo engine boasts a combination of innovative high-tech components which, in addition to spray-guided direct petrol injection with piezo injectors, also include a full aluminium crankcase, four-valve technology with camshaft adjustment, air/water intercooling, generator management and stop/start system. With a displacement of 5461 cc, the eight-cylinder engine develops a peak output of 386 kW (525 hp) and torque of 700 Nm. In conjunction with the AMG Performance package, these figures increase to 410 kW (557 hp) and 800 Nm. Both variants of the CLS 63 AMG achieve exceptional performance: acceleration from zero to 100 km/h takes 4.4 and 4.3 seconds respectively, and the top speed is 250 km/h (electronically limited).
The major difference between both power units is the increase in the maximum charge-air pressure from 1.0 to 1.3 bar. In addition, the CLS 63 AMG with the AMGPerformance package features a special high-quality carbon fibre engine cover.
AMG Performance package with enhanced performance ex works
One of the highlights of the attractive optional extras is the AMG Performance package which is available for the CLS 63 AMG. It comprises:

Exclusive optional extras are also available from the AMG Performance Studio:

Specially designed "Edition 1"
Also available is the special limited "Edition 1" version of the CLS 63 AMG. Finished in the new manganite grey SHAPE matt paint, the "Edition 1" features a host of specially designed high-quality interior details. On opening the doors, the first items to catch the eye are the AMG sports seats: the "corteccia pearl" designo leather is characterised by a shimmering metallic surface finish.

The roof lining, A, B and C-pillars, as well as the sunblinds, are finished in anthracite Alcantara®, while carbon fibre/black piano lacquer AMG trim elements help to give the interior a functional atmosphere. Also making a perfect match for the designo leather seats are the designo floormats in black velour, featuring designo badge and designo leather insert in "corteccia pearl".

The market launch of the new CLS 63 AMG will commence in March 2011.

Jaguar New Generation

Jaguar will unveil the latest dramatic evolution of its supercharged XKR coupe at the Geneva Motor Show in March. This XKR delivers a significantly raised maximum speed – up to 174mph from 155mph – and bold styling changes that create an evocative and unique supercharged Jaguar.
The XKR Coupe unveiled at Geneva showcases two new optional performance and styling packs – Speed Pack and Black Pack - that are introduced to the XK range at 2011 Model Year. Jaguar customers have the option to personalise their vehicle to create a car that offers even greater performance without compromising the refinement and luxury for which every Jaguar is renowned. By raising the XKR’s maximum speed the new car has extended its sporting credentials taking it even further into supercar performance territory.
Russ Varney, Chief Programme Engineer, XK Series, explains the philosophy behind the uprated XKR: “With 510PS and 625Nm of torque, the XKR has immense reserves of power and acceleration which impress everyone who experience it. The car has always had the potential to reach speeds far beyond its original electronically limited maximum and many of our customers have expressed an interest in a car that can safely be driven faster where conditions permit. The new Speed Pack allows them to release some of that potential and give them control of the fastest Jaguar XK we’ve made to date.” The XKR Coupe featured at the Geneva Show on 4th March 2010 pairs both the optional Speed and Black Packs to create the bold new model, which also sports optional Piano Black veneers on the dashboard and red brake callipers.
The XKR Coupe with new optional Speed Pack allows customers to further strengthen their XKR’s already impressive breadth of capability, by extending the car’s top speed from 155mph (250km/h) to an electronically limited 174mph (280km/h) thanks to a unique engine and transmission recalibration.
To ensure the XKR with Speed Pack remains stable at high speeds, the coupe uses a revised front aerodynamic splitter and larger rear spoiler to provide increased balance and a reduction in lift. The XKR’s computerised Active Differential Control also adjusts to reduce steering sensitivity at very high speeds, further improving stability and driver control.
Every XKR with the Speed Pack will come with body-coloured side sills and rear diffuser, and a chrome finish to the window surrounds, upper and lower mesh grilles, side Power Vents and boot lid finisher. Red brake callipers with a Jaguar ‘R’ logo sit inside 20-inch Kasuga alloy wheels. Customers who order the XKR Coupe with the Speed Pack will be offered a paint palette that is part of the Jaguar Designers’ Choice programme – a range of colours that have been specifically chosen to compliment the performance potential of the car. Seven colours are available on Speed Pack models – Ultimate Black, Polaris White, Salsa Red, Liquid Silver, Lunar Grey, Kyanite Blue and Spectrum Blue.
For customers looking to create a real statement with their Speed Pack XKR Coupe, the new optional Black Pack allows them to own a bold and purposeful Jaguar with undeniable visual impact thanks to menacing gloss black wheels and exterior detailing. Available only with the Speed Pack, XKRs fitted with the Black Pack have a paint palette selected from colours that Jaguar’s Design team believe to be ideal for creating a coupe with immediate exclusivity. The Black Pack models will be available in Ultimate Black, Polaris White or Salsa Red and boast eye-catching 20-inch gloss black Kalimnos alloy wheels.
Further gloss black finishing is applied to the window surrounds and front grilles. Red painted brake callipers contrast strongly with the black alloy wheels, while body coloured front and rear spoilers and boot lid finisher round out the package. Customers also have the option to apply a sweeping ‘XKR’ side body graphic that runs along the door sills. Jaguar’s Design Director, Ian Callum, says the new Black Pack is a fitting addition to the XKR: “While Jaguars are about beauty, they are also about speed and power. With the optional Black Pack you can now add a sense of drama and severity to that performance.”In addition to the Black Pack’s exterior changes, the Jaguar Designers’ Choice programme has also selected a range of interior trims that support the visual impact of the car. All XKRs with the Black Pack will be trimmed with Charcoal leather hides that can be personalised with a range of colour stitching and grain. Three interior finishes and veneers for the fascia and door trims are also available – Dark Oak, Dark Mesh Aluminium and Piano Black.
To underline the XKR's sporting credentials at 11MY red brake callipers become standard on all XKR Coupe and Convertible models. A tyre repair Instant Mobility System (IMS) becomes standard on all XK and XKR models. This frees up the 30-litre wheel well, which is now carpeted and can hold a specially designed and tailored XK accessory suitcase, substantially increasing the versatility of the car.
In the UK, retail pricing of the XK range starts at £61,955 for the 5.0 n/a V8 petrol. The Speed Pack costs £3,500 and the Speed and Black Pack costs £4,000. Both are available on XKR Coupe only. For more information go to www.jaguar.co.uk.
