World premiere for the new Volvo V60 by HEICO SPORTIV at the Essen Motor Show. On top HEICO SPORTIV shows the up to 330 HP strong version off the new Volvo S60.
Even at a glance, it becomes immediately apparent that HEICO SPORTIV has just the right ingredients to stimulate all the observer's senses! The front view already indulges the onlooker with clear contours thanks to a two-part front spoiler.
"We've given the Volvo S60 and V60 the expressiveness which potential owners of such a dynamic vehicle crave for," explains HEICO SPORTIV General Manager, Holger Hedtke.
Uncompromising in functionality and design.
The front spoiler is mounted on the original bumper and melts seamlessly into the entirety of the Volvo S60 and V60's contours. The design element made of low-weight, flexible polyurethane plastic (PUR-R-RIM) fulfills the latest pedestrian protection guidelines.
At the back, the PUR-R-RIM rear skirt in diffusor look cites the form of a diffusor, faithfully enfolding the left and right oval end-pipes of the quad outlet exhaust system.
As an optional add-on, HEICO SPORTIV also offers a matching carbon or alternative a stainless steel inlay. For vehicles with the original rear skirt, a dual-pipe exhaust variant is available in the familiar "left-right arrangement".
Manifold innovation under the hood.
The essential ingredients, however, are the ECU upgrades offered by HEICO SPORTIV. With the D3, D5 and D5 AWD diesel engines, these are implemented by reprogramming the engine control unit, with gasoline engines by means of e.motion.
HEICO SPORTIV e.motion stands for "efficiency in motion" and describes an additional engine control unit that, thanks to straightforward "plug & play technology", can be quickly installed and enabled by any authorized HEICO SPORTIV partner – worldwide!
Thanks to e.motion, the Volvo S60 2.0T generates a colossal 47 bhp more than its series-produced counterpart (currently 250 bhp/184 kW) and a maximum torque of 350 Nm (additional 50 Nm). In the 4-wheel drive version of the Volvo S60 T6, the engine power is boosted to 330 bhp (243 kW) and 460 Nm, allowing the top-of-the-range model to accelerate from 0 to 100 km/h in 5.8 seconds (series version: 6.5 seconds) and reach a maximum speed of 250 km/h (limited). Naturally, all HEICO SPORTIV ECU upgrades fulfill the rigorous Euro 5 emissions classification standard. Further tuning programs for the T3, T4 and T5 engine variants are under development.
For those with an attentiveness to craftsmanship and timeless design.
HEICO SPORTIV also sets new highlights when it comes to the interior. With perfect craftsmanship, finest quality leather was set and worked with a sure taste for style on the dashboard, door trims and the center console. Supplemented with aluminum add-ons like pedal set, footrest and gear shift knob.
Diversified menu to choose from.
HEICO SPORTIV sees itself as a fully integrated supplier able to fulfill the customer's every wish. The menu is finished off with sport springs and the 18"-20" VOLUTION® sport wheel program.
The world premiere of the Volvo V60 by HEICO SPORTIV will be on display at the booth of Continental at the Essen Motor Show (26th November - 5th December 2010).
Lamborghini super sportscars at 2010 Pirelli
Automobili Lamborghini and Pirelli, once again in partnership: the House of the Raging Bull’s super sportscars were among the luxury vehicles chosen by the tyre manufacturer for the new 2010 Pirelli calendar presentation, which took place last night in London.
A Murcielago LP 670-4 SuperVeloce and two Gallardos - an LP 560-4 Spyder and the latest limited edition, rear-wheel drive LP 550-2 Valentino Balboni – chauffeured some of the best known celebrities from music and show business to the event, including English model and socialite Lady Victoria Hervey, and songwriter, singer and twice Brit Award winner James Blunt and his companion. Blunt’s album ‘Back to Bedlam’ has sold 11 million copies worldwide and topped the charts in 18 countries.
For the occasion, all three Lamborghinis sported a special feature: hidden LED lights which, positioned under the wheel arches, illuminated the tyres in homage to the Milan-based tyre company.
The long-standing partnership between Lamborghini and Pirelli, both leaders in the automotive industry, focuses on technologically advanced solutions such as specific tyres to match Lamborghini sportscars’ extreme power and performance.
Lamborghini and Pirelli’s partnership extends to motorsport: Pirelli is the only official supplier of both the Lamborghini Blancpain Super Trofeo one-make series and of the Lamborghini Academy, which organises Lamborghini driving courses on prestigious international racetracks.
Recently, the partnership has also been documented on film: made by Pirelli in 2007 and widely available on the Internet, the short feature stars a yellow Gallardo, clad in Pirelli PZero tyres, driven on Los Angeles streets by actress Uma Thurman escaping from an ambush.
Lamborghini Gallardo LP 570-4 Spyder Performante
Lamborghini Gallardo LP 570-4 Spyder Performante
With the new Gallardo LP 570-4 Spyder Performante, Lamborghini is setting a new benchmark in the most fascinating automobile segment of all – the open-top super sports car. As "Performante", the Gallardo Spyder is even lighter thanks to CFRP technology, even more agile and even more dynamic. The new Spyder Performante is an automotive high-performance athlete that combines sheer sporting excellence and extreme performance with that unique open-air feeling that only a soft-top spanning the ten-cylinder power unit can offer. Ultimately, every spin in the Spyder Performante is like a journey into the eye of the storm.
The Gallardo LP 560-4 Spyder is already at the peak of its game, bearing testament to the lightweight engineering approach pursued by the Lamborghini brand. Nevertheless, the engineers in Sant'Agata Bolognese managed to reduce the weight of the new Spyder Performante by a further 65 kilograms (143 lbs). The open super sports car tips the scales with a dry weight of no more than 1.485 kilograms (3.274 lbs) – a new best for that highly exclusive market segment occupied by Lamborghini.
Just like its "brother", the Gallardo LP 570-4 Superleggera, the light weight of the Spyder Performante is due in large part to exterior and interior components made from carbon-fiber. These carbon-composite materials are perfectly suited to super sports cars because they combine reduced weight with improved technical characteristics. Performance is optimized as a result of lower weight, while CO2 emissions are reduced. Lamborghini has been leading the industry for 30 years in the application of CFRP, and now the brand is expanding that lead even further.
The V10 power unit with a displacement of 5.2 liters generates 419 kW (570 hp) in the Spyder Performante and guarantees breathtaking performance – it catapults the open-top LP 570-4 from 0 to 100 km/h (0-62 mph) in a mere 3.9 seconds and keeps on going to a top speed of 324 km/h (201 mph). The engine with "Iniezione Diretta Stratificata" gasoline direct injection boasts extremely impressive pulling power and a virtually endless rev range that delivers a constant supply of spine-tingling acoustics.
The Gallardo LP 570-4 Spyder Performante is an uncompromising driving machine. Its chassis, with its mighty brakes, is a work of great precision, while the new 19-inch wheels with Pirelli P Zero Corsa sports tires are extremely lightweight. The LP 570-4 Performante brings a new meaning to the term "Spyder".
Design and aerodynamics
The beauty of power
The beauty of power
The elegance of every Lamborghini rests on its extreme power and precise function. The design of the Gallardo LP 570-4 Spyder Performante, too, concentrates on the sheer essence of the design language - the bodyshell is pure sculpture and free of superfluous decoration. Its profile follows the contours of a dynamic wedge measuring 4.39 meters long, 1.90 meters wide, but only 1.18 meters high. Open or closed, the top of the Spyder Performante can handle the very highest speeds.
From the very first glance, the Spyder Performante is clearly recognizable as the open-top counterpart to the highly acclaimed and successful Gallardo Superleggera. The exterior modifications are all directed at increasing the aerodynamic effect in comparison to the Gallardo Spyder. Working closely with wind tunnel experts, designers from Lamborghini's Centro Stile remodeled the front bumper – three-dimensional, deeply recessed elements form trapezoidal frames for the large air intakes. Together with the V-shaped, sharply defined nose and the LED daytime running lights, the black elements give the front end a razor-sharp look. The design also optimizes the supply of cooling air and improves the downforce on the front axle.
Modifications to the fully-covered underbody, new sill elements and a redesigned diffuser incorporating four large tailpipes also help to achieve better aerodynamic results. A large optional rear spoiler is also available for the Spyder Performante
